Three Infant-Friendly Indoor Playgrounds in Northern Virginia

Posted on February 18, 2018

In the beginning, it was easy to entertain my child. I could go for a walk somewhere, anywhere, and she would love it. Now that she is mobile, and loves to play, I have to find more interesting things to do with her. Particularly on a rainy day, when walking isn’t that pleasant, indoor playrooms are a great place for her to burn some energy. She could play in the house, but I am one of those people who likes to get out of the house for a bit on the weekends. I conducted a general Google search to find an indoor playroom. Many of them offer classes for her age but they were typically offered during the week – during working hours. What…

Apps That I Found Useful During Maternity Leave

Posted on December 16, 2017

I want to share some applications that I found useful while I was on maternity leave. I was very busy with the baby, and extremely tired. So, things like walking the dog, grocery shopping, and going to the gym were difficult to complete while everyone was out at work.  Groceries During my pregnancy, I read blogs that shared advice on preparing plenty of food before the baby arrived. Needless to say, I was not that prepared. Actually, I didn’t think it would be too hard to cook with a new born. It wasn’t until after a baby I realized why they shared this advice. I was tired, hungry, and very busy with the baby. The last thing I wanted to do was go to…

Get Through It

“Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you have in mind.” – David Allen  Is it me or does time speed-up after you have a child? I can’t believe the year is almost over! One minute I had a new born, now I have an eight month old daughter with two teeth, who loves to wave and say, “Hi!” I know it is barely November, but seriously, where did the year go? I am always on the go, planning my next day, hour or week. It is as if so much has happened and by always planning my next day or move, I haven’t had much time to just sit back and reflect upon it…

It is my birthday month and I am officially 29 years old. Thanks to Facebook and the many posts on my wall, I remembered how old I am and that it was actually my birthday. For some reason, I almost forgot! I have never been the type to make a big deal about my birthday but this year I just had so much going on with all the days merging into one. So much happened while I was 28. I was reflecting on the past year and realized I went through many changes! Firstly, I became a mom! I have a beautiful daughter with the funniest laugh that makes me smile so much. She is amazing, growing everyday, so funny and bright. Having a child…

Making Baby Food

Posted on August 19, 2017

My daughter is loving stage one baby food. She loves carrots, pears and sweet potatoes! It is exciting when your baby is finally ready for baby food! It is so cute when they try different foods for the first time! Whether you decide to make your own food or use jarred food, it nice to do a little research first! I purchased the book below to help me with making my own food. The first step is deciding when is the best time to make the food and then developing a time-saving schedule! Right? When do you have time to make this food while working Monday-Friday and taking care of an infant? For me, I make mine on a weekend and I make enough to…

Big City Moms Event 2017

Posted on June 23, 2017

Big City Moms hosted a big baby shower event in Washington DC. I attended the event and received a giant bag with a lot of free goodies including yummy snacks. I am currently looking to upgrade my stroller and I figured going to an expo would be the best place to find the latest strollers. I was impressed with many products that I was able to experience and would love to share my thoughts on them with you. The top products I was most impressed with were: Mutsy Strollers Bugaboo Strollers Mrs Thinster’s Cookies SNOO – a smart crib The first two products are strollers. What I loved most about the Mutsy stroller was that it was sleek, stylish and a decent price! There is a bassinet option as well,…

First Post

I am a new Mom in Washington, DC and recent graduate with a Master’s Degree in Technology Management. I created a blog on WordPress  as a quick assignment for a cloud computing class. However, almost a year later, I have decided to come back with a new theme in mind and start posting. My bundle of joy was born in February of this year and she is amazing. I have the typical DC occupation of a consultant. My plans for this blog is to use this platform to discuss innovation within the baby product industry and as a lifestyle blog covering the working mom-consultant life. Advertisements
